Who is Dr. Felberg?
Marie “Mariika” Felberg is a licensed clinical psychologist, and a life coach, with a thriving private practice in the beautiful Silicon Valley. She was born in Kiev, Ukraine, and raised in SF Bay Area. Her Russian is still pretty good.
Mariika earned her dual BS in neurophysiology and bio-psychology, and her minor in the history of Russian literature, from University of California, Davis. Before embarking upon her graduate studies, she devoted five years to investigating cancer treatments at a research institute, a major university, and a biotech start-up. These experiences gave her a solid appreciation for the complex interplay of body and mind, and honed her ability to relate to people from different walks of life. She can even do math (if you squeeze her hard enough).
Dr.Felberg earned her Master’s and Doctorate degrees from California School of Professional Psychology, where she successfully defended her dissertation, establishing a critical age for cementing the impact of childhood culture on perception of charisma in adulthood. She developed her clinical skills in working with suicide hotline clients; chemically-dependent adults and teenagers; university students; and patients at a major Bay Area hospital, where she completed her Post-Doctoral Fellowship in treatment of chemical dependency and other addictive behaviors.
Dr.F has been in private practice since 2010. She works with adults, teenagers, couples, and families. Her scope of practice includes general clinical issues, therapist-supervised weight-loss, and life coaching. She consults for local start-ups and established companies on the matters of team health, optimal employee performance, and mental health product development. She is also involved in developing training programs for clinicians.
Mariika lives in South Bay with her family. She spends her leisure enjoying the company of friends and loved ones, and making the most of all that our beautiful corner of the world has to offer. Her hobbies include brain-teasers; fire-dancing; using her child as a plausible excuse to buy all the fun toys; writing third-person bios of herself; and failing to get her massive book addiction under control.
